Word on the Street

Basketbrawl (ba’-skut-brahl) noun. When two or more players and/or fans engage in a fight during a basketball game.

Usage example:Did you see last night’s basketbrawl between Greg Ostertag and Zydrunas Ilgauskas? God, they’re pussies.

Word history: First used during the 2004-2005 NBA season to describe the riot that broke out between the Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons after a fan threw a beer at Ron Artest.
