Word on the Street

Mustcanshoot (must’-can-shoot) verb. mustcanshot, mustcanshooting, mustcanshoots. To be obliged or required to shoot the basketball, when either wide open or guarded by a poor or inadequate defender.

Usage example:Whenever Greg Ostertag is defending you, then you mustcanshoot.

Word history: Magic Johnson once used this curious combination of “must,” “can,” and “shoot” to explain that a player is absolutely required to shoot when he has a clear and obvious opportunity to score.
